Gnostic Meditation

Becoming conscious of what we already know

We need to study Gnosis deeply. For that there are the books, for that there are the lectures, etc.; but a simple reading of the works is not enough, brothers, we need to go farther…
When we, by means of mediation try to know the intimate sense of that which we have stored in the memory, then such knowledge passes to the superior parts of the intellectual center; and if we try to be even more conscious of the teachings, finally it will happen that said knowledge will definitely be absorbed by the emotional center.
 Samael Aun Weor

Meditation is a frontier between our finite and sensual world and that other world or universe of the infinite and transcendental. The point of contact of both is the force of Love. Knowledge is not sufficient to integrate the individual with the universal consciousness. Knowledge is only the body of Wisdom. We need to integrate the body with the soul, and the soul of Wisdom is Love. Without Love there is no Will, without Will there is no Concentration, without Concentration there is no experience of the Truth.

With the technique of meditation what we are looking for is information. With a microscope we can see the life of microbes, bacteria, cells, microorganisms, etc. A telescope can give us information about the celestial bodies, planets, meteorites, stars, etc. But meditation goes beyond and would permit us to know the Truth from something so small to something as grand as the Sun, the Truth of an atom or a constellation.”
Samael Aun Weor

“Meditation is the settling of the mind into silence. When the mind is settled, we are established in our essential nature... This essential nature is usually overshadowed by the activity of the mind. Mental activity is settled by the practice of meditation and this will be firmly established when it is maintained consistently and with dedication over a long period of time.”
Patanjali

“If we wisely analyze ourselves, we discover that a constant state of affirmation and negation exists within us. What we want to be and what we actually are; we are poor and we want to be millionaires, we are soldiers and we want to be generals, we are single and we want to be married, etc. The state of contradiction engenders conflict, pain, moral misery, absurd actions, violence, lies, gossip, etc. The state of contradiction can never bring us peace in life. A man without peace can never solve his problems. You need to intelligently solve your problems and therefore it is urgent that you have peace constantly. The state of contradiction impedes the solution of problems. Each problem implies thousands of contradictions. Shall I do this? Or something else? How? When? Mental contradiction creates conflicts and frustrates the solution of problems.”
Samael Aun Weor
